Christmas 2017: Celebrations on Merry Christmas Eve

Christmas 2017: Every year Christmas falls on December 25 which is celebrated worldwide by Christians. Christmas is the annual holiday celebrated by Christians in all parts of the world to celebrate the nativity of Jesus Christ. Christians believe that Jesus is the son of God, the Messiah sent from Heaven to save the world.

The word Christmas comes from Cristes maesse, an early English phrase that means Mass of Christ. It is believed that Jesus was born to Mary in Bethlehem around two thousand years ago. On the day of Christmas National, state, and local government offices, post offices and banks are closed. Christian stores, businesses, and other organizations may be closed or have reduced opening hours.
