IPL CSK vs KKR: Today the match 5 of Indian Premier League between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders to be held at M.A Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk, Chennai. But many political parties already warned and threatened that they will protest against IPL matches until Cauvery Management Board is constituted. It is the first home match for CSK after the ban of two years.
As the political parties said before, they started to protest in the way blocking the people to go the stadium. In the Annasalai street, Egmore were the places people of Tamil Nadu and many political parties are doing protest. CSK team were staying in Crown Plaza and KKR team is staying in Egmore hotel. To stop them from entering the stadium, the protest has begun at 5 PM.
Protest Against IPL CSK vs KKR
Many actors, including Bharathiraja, Karunas, Vairamuthu all were in the protest to stop IPL matches in Tamil Nadu as they need Cauvery water in the current situation to save farmers. IPL is not necessary until the Centre for Cauvery Management board is constituted. Along with that Tamil Nadu is facing serious issues in Thoothukudi from Sterlite Copper, Neutrino project in Theni, and Methane project in Tanjore.
People of Tamil Nadu and all the political parties want to ban these things Tamil Nadu in order to save the people. Unless the Cauvery Management Board is constituted, people will not allow IPL matches to conduct here. They will continue the protest unless they get the judgment on the major issue in Tamil Nadu. Protestors asked not to stop IPL matches, they just want to postpone it as IPL will divert the awakening among the youth over Cauvery issue.
For this sake, IPL officials have said that they will shift the match to Trivandrum. But Tamil Nadu Government has said that will give tight security with 4000 police. Chennai Super Kings players have arrived the Chepauk Stadium with full security. KKR team is also on the way to the stadium. The match will be held as per the schedule. KKR team also reached the stadium. But some people have fired their IPL tickets during the protest.
Both the teams Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders have entered the stadium. But the audience in the stadium is very few. Hope the match will be held as per the schedule.
